This Wednesday, two cruise ships, the American Glory and the Grande Caribe, carrying a total of 150 passengers, will call to port in Portland officially kicking-off the 2009 cruise ship season for Portland.

A total of forty-five ships carrying 69,892 passengers are expected to call to port from July to October. The berthing schedule includes a number of maiden visits to Portland including the Cunard ship, Queen Victoria, in September. The sail includes visits to Nantucket Island, Bar Harbor and Camden and is scheduled to end next week in Bangor. During the 2009 season, the American Glory will call to port seven times.
