CruiseMaine Welcomes Three New Associate Members

February 26, 2007- CruiseMaine Director Amy Powers is pleased to announce that the Washington County Commissioners office, GetEtched, and the Maine Tourism Association recently joined the CruiseMaine marketing coalition-bringing the total number of the coalition’s Business Partners to eleven.

ADMIRAL LEVEL

Washington County Commissioners –Port of Eastport advocate John Miller who is the proprietor of Moose Island General Store deserves credit for fostering the new relationship between CruiseMaine and Commissioner Chris Gardner. The coalition has represented the Port of Eastport since our founding in 2002, yet this year marks the first season that the port will host a cruise ship (two calls from CruiseWest) in over 10 years and they look forward to being a regular stop on the new PEARL SEAS CRUISES ships in 2008 which will sail from Portland throughout Atlantic Canada and on to the St. Lawrence Seaway.

For the last three years we have promoted local gourmet foods produced in Washington County at the Cruise Lines International Association's reception we host at the Seatrade Shipping Convention in Miami; including Wyman’s Blueberry Juice (which is now served on AMERICAN CRUISE LINES year round), Raye’s Mustards, and this year we will be adding Mainely Smoked Salmon dip which is made in Perry and Gourmet Chocolates from Monica’s Chocolates in Lubec.
