Imagine a scenic voyage up a Maine river. As you sail by Fort Knox and turn to port you will be transported to a time when thousands of sailing ships plied the waters of the Penobscot River to the inland port on Bangor Harbor to take on lumber and other cargoes destined for the far corners of the world.

Walk the streets of this historic community and take in the numerous museums and shops in the vibrant downtown. Listen to the music, see a play, and enjoy the cuisine of one of the cultural festivals or theater productions that are held on the shores of the waterfront. The weather is great, the people are friendly, and you are always welcome in Bangor.
