Maine Office of Tourism E-News - January 2005

Date Set for New York Media Marketplace

Working with our public relations contractors, Nancy Marshall Communications and Development Counsellors International, the Maine Office of Tourism is finalizing plans for a second "Taste of Maine" Media Marketplace in New York City on March 15 at the Four Seasons Hotel.

Our goal is to secure significant, compelling visibility for Maine as a welcoming travel destination among approximately 40 New York based print, broadcast and freelance writers in the areas of travel, family, golf, outdoor recreation, culture, food and other special interests.

We invite Maine's tourism industry to join us in this opportunity to showcase Maine to this targeted group of travel journalists. Working together, we can leverage our marketing budgets to garner media exposure for Maine, and ultimately business for the participants.

Partners would be expected to cover their travel expenses. In addition, we anticipate the cost of participating to be no more than $500. The amount of the fee will be dependent on the number of participants.

Participation from our industry partners made last year's marketplace a success and we encourage you to consider joining us this year. Space is limited. Deadline for confirming participation is January 28, 2005. Please contact Charlene Williams at NMC at cwilliams@marshallpr.com with questions, or to sign up.
